Studio Policy

$23 per student — due with the registration form.

Annual registration covers piano tuning & repairs, scheduling, organising studio events, and administration.

Tuition is charged in advance by NSW public-school term and is non-refundable. Prepaid lessons are not transferable to other students.

Lessons may be held during school holidays. There are no lessons on public holidays.

No payment credit, refund, or make-up lesson can be provided for lessons missed within 24 hours of the scheduled time.

If a student is unwell, they may take an online video lesson during their regular lesson time, and a make-up lesson can be arranged.

No refund or credit is given for discontinued lessons.

If a student or parent decides to end lessons, the studio requires four weeks' notice (excluding school holidays). This allows the studio to accommodate students on the waiting list.

Notice must be delivered to Lien-Ying Lin personally. Payment is due during the four-week notice period whether or not lessons are taken, or four weeks' fees paid in lieu of notice.

If there is a lack of progress, there is probably a lack of practice. A student's progress is determined by dedicated practice, not by simply attending lessons. Ideally, students should practice every day.

Specific amounts of practice time are not assigned — students should practice long enough to complete their weekly assignments. The quality of practice matters more than the quantity.

Parent support is essential. Students whose parents take an active role tend to be more enthusiastic and productive. Please create a quiet space and schedule a regular practice time each day.
